Varanasi: There was an uproar again on Thursday afternoon between the students of Birla and Lal Bahadur Shastri hostel at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The students of both the groups walked fiercely between the bricks. On receiving information about the uproar, police from several police stations reached the spot. Lanka SO Bharat Bhushan and university teachers tried to persuade the students.
Chief Proctor OP Rai has said that there were clashes between 2 groups of alumni for three days. Then one of the parties had given a complaint in the police station. However, the fighting and stone-pelting started again on Thursday. According to one student, this clash took place near the Friendship Refreshment House in Birla and LBS students over the old enmity. The two groups also clashed in the hostel premises on Thursday afternoon.
After receiving the information, when the police reached there, the crowd of boys dispersed. However, there is still an atmosphere of tension in the campus. The proctor says that the boys who will be found guilty will be taken strict action by the university administration. At the same time, SP City Dinesh Singh said that there was a dispute within the campus about beating a student. After which the security system has been tightened.
