Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district is buzzing with the sound of firing on Sunday morning. According to the police, an encounter with the militants started after a joint operation by security forces in Reban area of Shopian. On giving information, officials said that so far two terrorists have been killed. However, their bodies have not been recovered yet. Firing is going on from both sides.

According to official information, the 178th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) in Zanpora launched a joint operation in Shopian to cordon and search operations in the area. During this, there was an encounter between the army and the terrorists. It was told in online media reports that two to three terrorists were reported to be trapped in the area. Earlier on June 4, terrorists opened fire on the police team in Yaripora market of Kulgam area of South Kashmir, in which a common citizen was injured.

On giving information to the media, a police officer told that he was seriously injured due to a bullet in the chest of the civilian. Terrorists came to Kanjikulla area of Yaripora via a vehicle. During this, he targeted the police party. Although all the soldiers remained safe during this period, but a common citizen was injured.
