Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Sopore area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The encounter is currently going on, with two to three terrorists surrounded. Right now security forces have surrounded the entire area. A joint operation of police, 22 RR and CRPF of Army started the search operation. As the joint party cordoned off the suspicious spot, the hidden militants opened fire on them.
Retaliation has been taken by the joint team. According to the police officer, the security forces laid siege around midnight in Reban area of Sopore city and conducted a search operation after the terrorists were reported to be hiding. A joint 22-RR team of Police, CRPF and Army is carrying out this operation. Giving information, a police officer said that the presence of militants was reported by the security forces, following which the area was cordoned off at midnight in Reban area of Sopore city.
He said that the search operation turned into an encounter around 4 am Sunday when the terrorists hiding there started firing on the security forces. Two terrorists were killed in this encounter.
