HYDERABAD: Scary details of sex trafficking of Tollywood actresses to the US exposed names of two top southern female stars. The expose followed the arrest of top dog Kishan Modugumudi also called Sreeraj Chennupati and Chandrakala by US federal agents in Chicago.

Sreeraj was a production manager in Tollywood before running prostitution business in the garb of Telugu meets in a foreign country.

Sources of TOI in Tollywood asserted that five trafficking victims mentioned in the criminal complaint at Homeland Security probe in United States district court of North District of Illinois Eastern Division, the two renowned actresses hail from Bengaluru and Chennai.

Starlet Sri Reddy told the media on Friday that the NRI couple had approached her too. It is noted that Sri Reddy hit headlines for struggling the casting couch threat in Tollywood.

She said usually when artists get failed to receive offers, they go to the US and are enticed into flesh trade. She added that artists are paid over $1,000, depending on their popularity.

Coming to the scandal Tollywood sources cited videos of the two actresses where in they are present at Telugu Association conferences in the US in which one of them expressed thanked to Sreeraj for helping her take part in the event in 2016. In a video Sreeraj was also seen attending the event. Following the expose, Movie Artists Association has decided to hold a talks on June 24 to talk about the issue.
