Agri Law: Turning point in 'Farmers Agitation' after Rakesh Tikait cries

New Delhi: After the violence on Republic Day, the peasant movement which seemed to be loosening up, something happened in the past that has come back to life. Actually, now the entire center of the peasant movement is not on the Singhu border but on the Ghazipur border of Delhi-UP. Protesters have gathered here for two months under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait, the UP government ordered the removal of all. By the afternoon, the movement seemed to be over, but the UP government could not succeed here.

It is noteworthy that on Thursday afternoon, Rakesh Tikait was served a notice by the Delhi Police. During the tractor rally, the Delhi Police gave notice on the Ghazipur border only to break the conditions, provoke the farmers. Shortly after this, Rakesh Tikait took the mike in the afternoon and in the speech indicated that the movement will end tonight. There was talk of surrender first, then there was talk of the arrest. On the other hand, Naresh Tikait, brother of Rakesh Tikait, also announced in his village that the Gajipur strike will end on Thursday.

By evening, the District Government was ordered to vacate the protest site by the UP government. On Thursday evening, Noida, Ghaziabad officials reached the Ghazipur border with heavy security forces. Talked to Rakesh Tikait, started removing the tents and toilets there. The Ghazipur border was completely converted into a cantonment, but the administration could not succeed in completely removing the picket.

Late in the night when the policemen tried to convince Rakesh Tikait, but he did not agree. After this, while talking to the media, Rakesh Tikait wept bitterly and said that farmers are being cheated. Rakesh Tikait also threatened that if the three laws are not returned, they will commit suicide. After this Rakesh Tikait started a hunger strike and asked not to withdraw from the picket site. On seeing this, the agitators again got excited, in Muzaffarnagar too, Naresh Tikait addressed thousands of supporters and announced jat mahapanchayat called in western UP. Not only this, late-night farmers from many villages of western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana took out tractors and reached the Ghazipur border.
