The Indian cricket team will leave for South Africa in the coming week to play the Under-19 World Cup. The captaincy of the team is in the hands of Priyam Garg. The Under 19 World Cup is to be held in South Africa from January 17 to February 9. India is the defending champion and will leave for South Africa with the intention of winning the title for the second time in a row.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has told about the schedule of the Indian Under-19 team on Saturday. BCCI has issued a communiqué informing that Team India will leave for South Africa from Bangalore on 20 December. The Indian team has been training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for a long time. Team captain Priyam Garg will talk to the media before leaving for South Africa. The BCCI said that on this Sunday, 15 December, the captain of the team will be present to talk to the media. He will be accompanied by the team's head coach Paras Mahambre.

16 teams will participate
This is the 13th edition of the Under-19 World Cup in which a total of 16 teams will participate this time. All these teams are divided into four groups. The top-ranked team and the second-ranked team in each group will qualify for the Super League stage. The Indian team is placed in Group A along with New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Japan.
