The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has summoned Israel's ambassador to protest developments at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. According to a statement released by the UAE's Ministry of State for International Cooperation (MoFAIC), Amir Hayek, Israel's ambassador to the UAE, has been summoned to "strongly protest and reject the activities going place in Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque."

According to reports, the UAE denounced "attacks on people and invasions into holy places that resulted in the injury of a number of civilians."

Al Hashimy emphasised the importance of putting an end to these events as soon as possible, providing full protection for worshipers, respecting Palestinians' right to follow their religious rites, and putting an end to any acts that undermine the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, it added.

The UAE is calling for a resumption of meaningful talks aimed at achieving a just and complete peace, as well as the creation of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 boundaries, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
