UAE delivers 1 million Sputnik vaccines to Gaza

Gaza: The United Arab Emirates (UAE)  has delivered 1 million Sputnik V vaccine doses to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border crossing, a top official said

"It is the largest shipment of vaccine doses that is shipped to the Gaza Strip, which will help combat the current wave of Covid-19 that has significantly increased in the last couple of days," Gaza Health Ministry official Mahmoud Hammad told reporters on Wednesday at the southern Gaza-Egypt crossing point.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the West Bank, up to 7,750 new cases were identified in the Palestinian territories in the last 24 hours, marking the greatest number of daily infections since the first case was reported in March 2020.

On Wednesday, 905 recoveries were recorded in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with two connected fatalities in the West Bank, according to the statement. According to the government, more than 500,000 Covid cases have been reported in the Palestinian territories, with more than 5,000 deaths.
