Lucknow: Raja Uday Pratap Singh, the father of Bahubali MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya from Kunda assembly seat in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh has been placed under house arrest. Raja Uday Pratap Singh, father of Raja Bhaiya, who had been staging a protest for three days demanding the removal of a gate at Sheikhpur Ashiq in Kunda, was placed under house arrest by the police as soon as he went home today.

It is being told that Raja Uday Pratap Singh, who had gone for daily activities on Friday morning, was placed under house arrest by the UP Police. There is a lot of anger among the supporters over this police action. It may be recalled that Raja Uday Pratap Singh had been staging a protest in Kunda tehsil since Wednesday demanding the removal of a gate erected by Muslims in Sheikhpur Ashiq village.

Several markets including Kunda and Derwa have been declared closed today to protest against the detention of Raja Uday Pratap Singh. In view of tension in the area, the security of the gate constructed at Sheikhpur Ashiq has been beefed up and a heavy police force has been beefed up. The PAC has also been called to the spot. However, so far, there has been no official reaction from Raja Bhaiya on the matter.
