Mumbai: On Tuesday, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis has alleged that the Uddhav Thackeray government is conspiring to target opposition leaders. Not only this, Fadnavis also accused the Uddhav government of misusing the police department. While speaking on law and order in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Fadnavis handed over a pen drive to Deputy Speaker Narhari Jirwal.

He claimed that there are 125 hours of recording in the pen drive, which shows how conspiracy is being hatched by the police and government persons to implicate him and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. He said, in the video, Public Prosecutor Praveen Chavan has claimed that high level meetings were held from CM to DGP of the state to implicate and arrest Bharatiya Janata Party leader Girish Mahajan under MCOCA. Fadnavis said, in the video Praveen Chavan is seen claiming that NCP chief Sharad Pawar wants to politically eliminate Fadnavis and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and this task has been given to Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey.

According to Fadnavis, apart from him, Mahajan, Chandrakant Patil, Jai Kumar Rawal, Subhash Deshmukh, Sudhir Mungantiwar are also on target. Fadnavis has demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident. The former Chief Minister said, you are raising questions on central agencies without any evidence. But I give evidence that the crime in Girish Mahajan case took place in Pune. But after 3 years the police registered a case in Muktainagar. Not only this, the former Chief Minister alleged that NCP leader Eknath Khadse, who was earlier in the Bharatiya Janata Party, was involved in implicating Bharatiya Janata Party leader Girish Mahajan in the case. Girish Mahajan has been arrested under MCOCA in the 2018 case related to Maratha Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.
