Mumbai: During the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the case of phone tapping of Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders has come to light. The Uddhav government of the state has ordered an inquiry into this matter on Friday. This phone tamping was done during the attempt to form a government after the election results came. According to sources, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Sanjay Raut are among the leaders whose phones were tapped.

After the news of phone tamping came out, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that "I am a disciple of Bal Thackeray, no work or thing is done in secret". While giving more information about this, Minister in Maharashtra Cabinet Anil Deshmukh has said that during the Maharashtra elections, the phones of non-BJP leaders were being tapped. We have ordered an inquiry into this serious issue. Sanjay Raut, while referring to a veteran BJP leader, said that he had already been alerted about this.
