In the UFC championship, Petr Yan became the first champion to lose his title by disqualification on saturday. This occurred after Yan connected with an illegal knee to the head of Sterling in the fourth round of their fight. The strike was prohibited as Sterling continued to be in a grounded state and could not continue to fight. Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones’s comments on the controversial bout between Petr Yan and the now champion Aljamain Sterling has not gone down well with Yan.

Here it is to be noted that after this bout Jones congratulated Sterling for his win, and said the fight ending in the bizarre fashion was not his fault.for your information let us share that Jones experienced his own illegal strike incident when he fought Anthony Smith at UFC 235 in 2019. Jones dominated the entire bout, but was deducted two points for an illegal knee in round four. Smith was able to continue and Jones won a unanimous decision to defend his light heavyweight title.
