London The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom has begun to withdraw staff from its embassy in Kiev.
The embassy is withdrawing some workers and dependents from Ukraine, but the embassy remains operational and will continue to carry out vital operations, according to the statement.
"All travel to Donetsk oblast, Luhansk oblast, and Crimea is strongly advised by the FCDO. The FCDO advises against travelling to the rest of Ukraine unless absolutely necessary "It was stated.
According to local news report, the US Department of State ordered qualified family members of workers at its embassy in Ukraine to leave the country on Sunday.
In a statement, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed the US decision was "premature and a manifestation of excessive caution." Meanwhile, Josep Borrell, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, told reporters on Monday that "we would not do the same thing since we do not know any specific reasons."
