London: The life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, who taught the world non-violence during the Indian independence movement, is to be remembered for the first time in Britain through a special collector coin. In fact, British Finance Minister Rishi Sunak announced this today, Thursday. This round coin will be part of the royal mint's collection on the occasion of the Hindu festival Deepawali.

It has the national flower lotus of India and a famous coat of Gandhi inscribed "My life is my message." Well, this is the first time that Gandhi will be remembered through an official British coin. In a recent statement, Rishi Sunak said, "As a Hindu, I am proud to release this coin on Deepawali. Mahatma Gandhi played an important role in India's freedom movement and it is fantastic to remember his remarkable life for the first time through a British coin.''

The coin is five pounds and will be made of gold and silver. At the same time, it is a legitimate currency. However, it is not designed for normal currency movement. It will be available for sale on the occasion of Diwali i.e. from today Thursday. Along with this, gold bars of one gram and five grams and the first British gold bar depicting Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, will also be available for sale.
