KIEV: In the midst of the war with Russia, Ukraine has mobilized about 1,00,000 troops, according to Valery Zaluzhny, the country's chief commander of armed forces.

According to Zaluzhny, the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine's armed soldiers account for around half of the mobilized forces.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday via social media that the country had agreed to undertake discussions with Russia near the Pripyat River on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. A phone contact between Zelensky and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko led to the decision to arrange talks.

During a meeting with top defense officials on Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the country's deterrence forces to be placed on a "special mode of combat duty," accusing Western countries of implementing "illegitimate sanctions" against Russia's economy.
