KIEV: The Ukrainian Parliament has unveiled a draft law to impose new sanctions on Russia.  The bill, which was presented by President Volodymyr Zelensky, calls for the introduction of 10 fresh sanctions against Russia over the course of the following ten years. The proposed law specifically forbids the transfer of money from Ukraine to people or organisations with ties to Russia.

The bill also proposes to ban Russian and Russia-linked ships and planes from entering Ukraine, among other measures. Among other things, the law suggests prohibiting Russian and Russian-affiliated ships and aircraft from entering Ukraine.

Last month, The European Union set target Russian gold exports  its sanctions packages while further tightening previous measures on Moscow amid the continuing war in Ukraine.

The Europeon Union has so far approved six packages of sanctions on Russia with the last one passed in June that imposed a ban on most Russian oil imports.  As per the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen who stated earlier that  “Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine continues unabated. Therefore, we are proposing today to tighten our hard-hitting EU sanctions against the Kremlin, enforce them more effectively and extend them until January 2023.”
