Whereas the situation between Ukraine and Russia remains uncertain, President Volodymyr Zelensky has sought a global ban on Russian ships and planes accessing international airports and seaports.

The Ukrainian president demanded this as a punishment for Moscow which launched an attack on his country. "All ports, canals, and all world airports must be closed to this state," he said on Facebook, pushing the worldwide community to "consider a total blockage of the sky to Russian missiles, planes, and helicopters."

He further said that even during Monday's talks, Russia continued to "bombard and shoot" on Ukrainian territory, putting pressure on Kyiv despite the fact that both parties had committed to a ceasefire.  More than 5 lakh people have fled Ukraine in the last week, according to the UN Refugee Agency. UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi shared his assessment of the figures in a tweet.

According to Shabia Mantoo, a spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, 281,000 refugees have entered Poland, while more than 84,500 have entered Hungary. Aside from them, Moldova has over 36,400 people, Romania has about 32,500, and Slovakia has about 30,000. While others have been scattered to unknown locations. During the invasion, the people escaped in a variety of ways.

While some have managed to flee the nation, many others are still trapped. Some are alleged to have become trapped at the border crossings.  Many Indian students are reportedly stranded at crossing points along the Romania-Ukraine border and are unable to enter Romania. A few recordings of persons professing to be of Indian descent being beaten by troops at the border have also gone viral. However, it remained unclear why they had been beaten or who they were.
