Ukrainian FM calls for European nations to close all their ports for Russian ships

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, called on European countries to restrict all their ports to Russian ships amid rising tensions in Ukraine on Saturday.

Kuleba took to Twitter to say, "Assist us in defeating Putin. All European ports will be closed to Russian ships. Now is the moment to take action." Ukraine's Ministry of Defense released a video of a shot-down plane falling from the sky, adding, "Just on the outskirts of Chernihiv, air defence specialists shot down another enemy attack aircraft!" in a separate tweet.

As part of the 1936 Montreux Convention, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Turkey has informed all coastal and non-coastal countries that it will not allow warships to pass through its straits of Bosporus and Dardanelles.

"We warned all riparian and non-riparian countries not to allow warships to transit the straits," Cavusoglu said, according to the Anadolu news agency. "No request for transit across the straits has been made to date."
