Ukrainian Prez, Dutch PM to discuss cooperation and regional security

KIEV –Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and visiting Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte met to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional security, the presidential press office notified.,

According to reports, Zelensky and Rutte stated their commitment to build and strengthen the comprehensive bilateral collaboration in all areas of mutual interest in a joint statement issued following their talks. The two leaders discussed ways to improve collaboration in sectors such as the circular economy, healthcare, water and waste management, renewable energy, information and communication technology, space technologies, and inland waterways. The two parties emphasised the necessity of finding a peaceful solution to the crisis in and surrounding Ukraine, saying diplomacy is critical to the peace process.

Rutte reaffirmed his country's support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty within internationally recognised borders. Rutte stated that the Netherlands is prepared to give Ukraine with technical cyber assistance as well as continuing to provide rehabilitative care to Ukrainian military injured in the Donbas conflict.

At a joint press conference following their meetings, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is working to improve its defence capabilities, emphasising that the armament offered to Ukraine by international partners is for defensive purposes only, not offensive purposes.
