New Delhi: Violence broke out in Delhi's Jahangirpuri on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday. Several policemen were injured in the violence. While one civilian is also injured. Umashankar Dubey was also injured in the violence. He was leading the procession on Hanuman Jayanti. Umashankar's neck was attacked with a sword. They have had serious injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital.

Umashankar, who was injured in the Jahangirpuri violence, told the media that he was leading the procession on Hanuman Jayanti. The riots started around 5:30 am. In the beginning, 70-80 people were protesting. After that, the crowd of rioters increased. Suddenly stones and bottles were thrown from the roof. He said Ansar was present in front of the mosque in C block with 60-70 people at that time. Ansar was told by people in his group that don't leave these people, don't let them go. Umashankar said, "I told Ansar that these people are unarmed, don't kill them. To this, Ansar said that whatever he did, he will have to suffer," he said, adding that two to three months ago, during the recitation of Bajrang Dal's Hanuman Chalisa, Ansar had threatened workers in Jahangirpuri. He said to stop doing all this, otherwise, the result would be bad. 
 
Umashankar said, "The names of Munna Bangali, Arif, Rafi and Alam were also taken during the violence. People from outside were also called. During the dispute, my neck was attacked with a sword. I was soaked in blood. The policemen pulled me towards them and made me sit in the car. But I got down again to save the workers from the car. I took my workers from the back street and left. But then stones were thrown from the roof. Bottles full of chemicals were being thrown," Umashankar said, adding that several rounds of firing were also carried out during this period. I was engaged in saving people. Most of the attackers were Bengali Muslims. The matter calmed down after the arrival of the police. 

So far, 23 people have been arrested on charges of this violence. On Monday, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana informed about the incident while addressing a press conference. He said the whole controversy started with a trivial matter. At the same time, he also called for an investigation on the question of conspiracies. Asthana said that the fact that flags were put up in the mosque was not true. He also said that the matter will be investigated from every angle and strict action will be taken against any side of the people who are found indulging in violence.
