Islamabad: The political landscape in Pakistan is marred by hesitation as prominent political parties grapple with the ambiguous timeline for the upcoming elections, a situation resulting from the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) decision to finalize new constituencies by December 14.

This uncertainty stems from the constitutional mandate that general elections be conducted within 90 days of the dissolution of the National Assembly, which occurred on August 9. However, the ECP's plan suggests that the polls might extend beyond the anticipated November timeframe.

Expressing their discontent, the PPP, PTI, PML-N, and other key parties have all demanded adherence to the stipulated election timeline, calling for immediate polls. Despite these calls, the ECP remains firm in its stance, citing the necessity to finalize the new constituencies.
