The Indian U-17 women's team lost 0–3 to Sweden in the opening match of the three-nation tournament but head coach Thomas Denerby said they were proud of the team for their performance against a strong opponent.

In an interview where Denerby said, 'We know that Sweden is a strong team in Europe and everyone knows that their senior team has won a bronze medal in the World Cup this year. I am proud of the players of my team. At the same time we made some good chances of scoring goals. After creating a chance, we could not turn it into a goal in the last moments, we are working on it. Denerby, who took charge of the team two months ago as the head coach, said that the players are getting into the new system.

At the same time when he was asked about this, he said, 'You can see it, the defense, midfield, attack is doing well in every department. Our aim is long term and we are trying to get into it.
