Mumbai: The notorious underworld don Ejaz Lakdawala, who has once become synonymous of danger with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Don Chhota Rajan Gang, is battling poverty these days. In recent times, Mumbai's investigating agencies have recorded a number of calls to Mumbai for the ransom of Lakdawala, hidden abroad. After hearing Lakdawala's phone records, the ears of security agencies have stood.

In a series of calls, Don is being heard begging small businessmen, builders and some new film personalities to demand recovery of only four to fifty thousand rupees a week. Since the arrest of Don Ravi Pujari, Lakdawala has been bewildered and has been scrambling to make his entry into Mumbai.

In fact, Don Ejaz Lakdawala has in the past demanded a week's recovery of only 50,000 rupees from a marble businessman in the western suburb, which has been exposed to the police and the fugitive Don's pole has since been exposed.

In fact, in Mumbai, the Lakdawala gang's feet have been uprooted and they have become the favourites of the amount. In the 1990s, Dawood Ibrahim's notorious D-company and then Chhota Rajan's right hand was Ejaz Lakdawala. In 2003, at the behest of Dawood Ibrahim on Ejaz Lakdawala, Chhota Shakeel conspired to eliminate four sharpshooters by sending them to Bangkok, but the Lakdawala escaped with a hoax.
