The Congress has strongly condemned the doubling of roadways bus fares and raising the price of petrol diesel. Senior Congress leader former MLA Manoj Tiwari said that due to the lockdown, the economic condition of the people of the state has deteriorated and the poor, middle class people have been severely affected. In such a situation, doubling the fare of roadways buses is unfortunate. He said that most of the poor and middle class people use roadways buses. This decision of the government will cause a double whammy on the people. The government should have shown sensitivity while fixing the fares of roadways buses. It is unfortunate to put financial burden on the public to meet any deficit. He has demanded that the state government immediately withdraw the fare hike decision so that the public can get relief. He said that for the last 13 days, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increasing continuously. Petroleum materials have become quite expensive.

For your information, let us know that the people already struggling with economic crisis are upset with the ever increasing prices of petrol and diesel. Due to increase in the price of diesel, daily consumption items will become expensive, which will directly affect the public. The government should reduce the prices of petroleum products and stabilize it in this difficult phase of the epidemic. After the rise in crude oil prices, oil companies have started increasing the prices of petrol and diesel. Prices have been steadily increasing since June 6. Earlier prices were increased or decreased every fifteen days, but since the last six June, the prices have been increasing every day by the oil companies. In Doon, petrol price has increased to 80.69 paise per liter on Sunday, while diesel has reached Rs 71 per liter.

At the same time, the oil companies did not increase the prices of petrol and diesel in the lockdown, but as soon as unlock-1. Oil companies started increasing prices continuously. Even the prices were reviewed in the first 15 days, but after unlock-1 oil companies have started increasing the prices every day. From June 6 to Sunday, the price of petrol has increased by 6.12 paise, while the price of diesel has increased by the same amount. This increase is expected to increase continuously. On Saturday, petrol price in Doon was 80.42 paise, which has increased to 80.69 paise on Sunday. At the same time, the price of petrol has reached Rs 71 per liter. Sachin Gupta, General Secretary of Dehradun Petrol Pump Dealers Association, said that after the rise in crude oil prices, the prices of oil are continuously increasing. There is a possibility of increase in prices even further. Earlier there was an increase or decrease of one or two paise, which did not have much effect, but in the last fifteen days there has been an increase of up to six rupees. This affects dealers' commissions.
