New Delhi: India and New Zealand are facing each other in the final match of the World Test Championship, but the weather in Southampton is not working in favour of a match before the first day's play, it is raining very late. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also took to Twitter to provide an update on the weather forecast in Southampton and said the first session of the first day would not be played.

BCCI tweeted, "Good morning from Southampton. We are just over an hour away from the scheduled start of the game but the drizzle continues here. The match officials are currently on the field. BCCI wrote that unfortunately there will be no game in the first session on the first day of the ICC World Test Championship final. Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen also posted an update on the England season on Twitter. The World Test Championships will begin in the UK today, but it is raining."

Both India and New Zealand had secured their place in the final after claiming the top two places in the point table WTC. Virat Kohli topped the charts with a win percentage of 72.2 per cent, while New Zealand are second with 70.
