NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley all set to present his last budget before 2019 general elections which probably slated to held before May 2019, its hard nut to crack for Jaitley to meet expectation of voters as well as investors in the country once again, especially after the twin deficits and implementation of Goods and Service Tax across the country.

Many economics experts in the country expecting that its not an easy task for finance minister to stick to the 3.1 percent target of the GDP for the fiscal deficit due to GST impact.

Another factor is intense pressure on the banks to restrict their losses with the huge problem of increasing non-performing assets (NPA). Adding to this, cumulative losses of banks exceeds to Rs 150 billions.

This is not only hurdle in Jaitley’s way to please every one.

Recent outcome of Gujarat elections enough for government to underlined rural distress and it not only in Gujarat, but country-wide problem. Finance minister needs to be redressed immediately to get favourable outcome in next general elections and strengthen party hold in the country.

Currently, large chucks of voters particularly from the rural India suffering from increasing debt burden and below cost yield. Government need to meet rural India expectation as well.

Drop in growth rate post-GST an another factor which Jaitley need to address as majority of business establishments are not happy with government quoting that the new system was implemented without proper planning. Its difficult task Jaitley to keep everyone happy.
