Union Budget 2021: PM Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana worth Rs 64,180 cr to be launched

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is addressing parliament with details of the Union Budget 2021. This budget comes after a difficult year for the economy due to the corona pandemic. FM  said that this budget rests on six pillars – from healthcare to infrastructure. She has also announced a total spend of around Rs 2 lakh crore on healthcare. The government has announced a new central healthcare scheme to strengthen the country's healthcare infrastructure over the next six years. 

In her sppech,Sitharaman said that  New centrally sponsored scheme PM Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana to be launched with an outlay of Rs 64,180 crore over 6 years. The key interventions under PM Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana would include, Support for Health and Wellness Centres, Setting up Integrated Public Health labs in all districts, Critical care hospital blocks and Strengthening of NCDC.

While talking about Swacch Bharat and swasth bharat., FM said,"Intend to focus on reduction of single use plastic, air pollution and segregation of waste." Besides this, the Government to launch Mission Poshan 2.0 and Jal Jeevan Mission Urban.
