Today, on Friday, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution by President Ram Nath Kovind.
In the press release of the office of President Ramnath Kovind, it has been said that besides his existing departments, Goyal will also take charge of this ministry. Now talk about Piyush Goyal, he is the Minister of Railways and Commerce Industries in the Cabinet. He is now replacing the late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. Talking about Ram Vilas Paswan, he passed away on Thursday after an illness. He was a resident of Bihar and was 74 years old. He breathed his last at Delhi's AIIMS Hospital.
After his death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and leaders of several parties have also paid tribute to him at his residence in New Delhi. Information about the demise of Ram Vilas Paswan was tweeted by his son Chirag Paswan, after which many politicians and Bollywood celebrities have expressed grief.
