Vimla Prasad, the mother of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, has passed away late Thursday night at the age of 90. He breathed his last at Paras Hospital in Patna. According to the information, she had been running ill for a long time.

"My mother Bimla Prasad has left for her heavenly abode late last night. She was ailing for some time," Prasad, a Lok Sabha MP from Patna Sahib seat, tweeted. "She was a source of my inspiration and all my achievements in life are because of her blessing. May her soul rest in peace," he added in another tweet.  On this demise, many leaders have given prasad a moment of grief. The mortal remains will be brought to the residence at Nageshwar Colony Boring Road at 10 am today for final darshan and will be cremated at Digha Ghat on December 26 i.e.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have expressed grief over the demise of Prasad's mother. The Bharatiya Janata Party in communication said that it has cancelled all party functions in Patna today.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh has condoled the passing away of Prasad’s mother. He wrote, “Sad news is receiving that Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad ji’s Mataji Vimla ji passed away last night. May God give his soul peace and the power to bear this sorrow to the family’.
