Union Minister releases gas-filled balloons, burns 4 children during sports event

Lucknow: A stampede broke out during an MP sports competition held at sport stadium in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. In fact, when sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, the district MP and Union minister, released gas-filled balloons after starting the competition, a child grabbed a string of balloons and tried to lower them. Meanwhile, a balloon full of gas exploded and four school children were scorched. The injured children were brought to the district hospital and treated.

The incident took place at sports stadium in Sadar Kotwali in the district. Mahendra, Abhishek, Vivek and Navneet, who are upper primary school students, were among the children who were burnt in the incident. The same Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said that the gas-filled balloon i had released went up, but some children grabbed the string of the balloons and pulled it down. They started bursting balloons in a snatching, in the meantime the accident took place. The children were sent to the hospital and treated.

On November 22, the District Collector started the MP Sports Competition Sports Competition. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti had arrived to conclude it. Above all, there was neither any medical staff nor any ambulance present during the competition. However doctors at the district hospital treated the children. Dr Nitin, who is posted at the trauma centre, said that four children have come to the hospital who suffered burn injuries due to a gas balloon burst. All the children are residents of Bhithora block.  They have been injuring, although there are no major injuries.
