The United Nation has continued to support Pakistan's response to the disastrous floods by supplying food, fresh water, and other essential relief materials, a spokesperson said.

According to Eri Kaneko, an associate spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the UN team and humanitarian partners have helped 55,000 people get access to clean water and 300,000 people have gotten food assistance. He said,  "Our colleagues have also deployed 14 mobile clinics to offer medical services in affected areas."
In addition, the country's host communities and refugee populations have received more than 71,000 emergency relief items from the UN team and its humanitarian partners, including tents, plastic tarpaulins, cooking stoves, blankets, solar lamps, and sleeping mats.

Kaneko said, over 5,000 km of roads and 243 bridges have been damaged or destroyed, which makes access a significant barrier to both the distribution of help and people's ability to leave their homes for safer places.
The spokesperson claims that more than 470,000 people are living in camps in Pakistan and that over 1.1 million homes have been damaged or destroyed.

An estimated 33 million people have been affected by the worst flooding in decades and over1,000 people, mainly children”, have died since mid-June when heavy rains began pounding the country, Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN humanitarian coordination office, OCHA, said earlier.
