LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that the Uttar Pradesh budget for 2022-23 will be presented on May 26. Before the inaugural session of the 18th UP Assembly in Lucknow, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh addressed the media and welcomed all elected members.

"Today is the first day of the 18th UP Assembly's first session. All of the newly elected members are warmly welcomed. On May 26, the state budget for 2022-23 will be presented. The government is ready to consider the issues presented by members of the Assembly "Yogi said.

Samajwadi Party MLAs protested inside the State Assembly against the state administration over various issues just hours after the session began. It is also believed that the Yogi government will make favourable announcements for farmers who grow potato, tomato, and onion. For certain horticulture commodities, the government is likely to announce a minimum support price.

On May 26, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh will present its yearly budget to the state assembly. This year's budget is expected to be over Rs 6 lakh crore. According to finance department sources involved in budget preparation, the budget's expected amount this year might be about Rs 6 lakh crore. Last year, the state government presented an annual budget of Rs 5.50 lakh crore, and this year's budget could be increased by 15 to 20%. The budget may include funding for the different people's friendly announcements made during the elections, with a special focus on infrastructure and public welfare initiatives.
