Moradabad,(UP), Apr. 04: On Monday, a case has been registered here regarding the acid attack when a woman's husband and father-in-law allegedly threw acid on her. The incident took place when the victim, Divya Sharma, with her sister, was returning home from the police station.

According to the sources, Divya's in-laws were harassing her for a dowry and on that day she went to police in connection with a case of dowry harassment. On the way back home the accused duo threw a bottle full of acid on her. According to the police, Bina (her sister) too suffered some minor burns during the act.

Immediately police arrested the father-in-law but unfortunately, her husband managed to run away. The victim is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital due to her critical injuries and burns.

"A case has been registered against her husband and her father-in-law under section 326A (causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) (of the Indian Penal Code) and the matter is being investigated," said Moradabad Superintendent of Police, Ashish Shrivastava.

Earlier also in March, Moradabad police has registered a case against a woman's husband after he allegedly threw acid on her, after failing to fulfil his dowry demand. The victim was identified as Farha (25) who was attacked by her husband, Siraj (32). In this case, also the accused managed to run away easily.
