UP ATS nabs 8 terrorists plotting to make India 'Islamic nation'

Lucknow: The Anti-Terrorism Squad of Uttar Pradesh has arrested 8 terrorists. These terrorists are said to be members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and Al-Qaeda. According to reports, all of them had conspired to terrorise UP. But, before they could succeed in their plans, the ATS caught them. According to media reports, the UP ATS arrested 8 terrorists linked to the Bangladeshi terrorist organization Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh and Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent. Rs 2.5 lakhs in cash were recovered from the suspected terrorists.

The eight accused have been identified as Lukman, Qari Shahzad, Kamil, Mohammad Aleem, Shahzad, Ali Noor (Bangladeshi), Nawazish Ansari and Mudassir. Most of them are from the Saharanpur area. The police are investigating after taking all of them into custody. So far, cash including pen drives, and mobile phones have been recovered from them. Along with this, some jihadi material has also been recovered. The police have registered a case against them under sections 121A, and 123 of the IPC and sections 18, 18B, 20, 38, and 40 of the UAPA.

Uttar Pradesh ATS has said that these suspects, who worked to connect people with them while plotting Ghazwa-e-Hind in India, change their names and live in different areas of the country and use certain mobile apps to avoid police and agencies.
