UP board result Declared: Gautam Raghuvanshi topped in exam by scoring brilliant per cent

NEW DELHI: On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) declared the UP Board results. Gautam Raghuvanshi from Kanpur has topped the Uttar Pradesh Board High School exam of Class 10, scoring 97.17 per cent. At the second spot is Shivam from Barabanki with 97 per cent marks while Tanuja Vishwakarma, again from Barabanki, secured the third position with 96.83 per cent. There are 21 students in the top 10 in Class 10 board examination.

All three toppers of the Class 12 exams are girls. The first rank holder among them is Tanu Tomar with 97.80 per cent marks, Bhagyashree Upadhyaya from Gonda came second and Akanshya Shukla from Prayagaraj, with 94.80 per cent, came third. 80.07 per cent of the students who appeared for the Uttar Pradesh Class 10 board exam has passed and 70.06 per cent students have passed in Class 12.

The results for both Class 10 and Class 12 (intermediate) have been released on: upmsp.edu.in and upresults.nic.in.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated the students who cleared the Class 10 and 12 board exams. "Students should understand that exams are just a stepping stone and there will be many such steps along the way. I pray to God that every student wins over the challenges in their life and emerge victorious," he tweeted in Hindi.

The results were declared within two months after the high school board exam ended. The Class 10 examination in Uttar Pradesh began on February 7 and ended on February 28. In 2018, the pass percentage for Class 10 students in the Uttar Pradesh state board was 75.16 per cent. Students would need minimum 35 per cent marks to pass in the exam. Those who do not pass will have the option to apply for improvement or compartment exam.

Over 58 lakh students were registered in Class 10 and Class 12 for the UP Board exams. Around 32 lakh students enrolled for the Class 10 exam. Around 26 lakh students enrolled for the Class 12 exam.
