Lucknow: The time for municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh is near. The work of voter revision is going on in the final stage. The State Election Commission has issued a notification regarding voter revision. It has been told that the voter list revision will start from October 31. After that, the final publication of the voter list will be on November 18.  

It is expected that the date of the civic elections can also be announced after the voter list revision. It is being told that the Commission can issue a notification regarding the election by the second week of November. In fact, preparations are being made to hold municipal elections in UP in November-December. State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar has informed that the draft voter list will be published on October 31. Claims and objections to them will be disposed of from November 8 to 12. From November 14 to 17, the preparation of manuscripts of supplementary lists and subsuming them in the original list will be carried out. The final publication of the voter list will be done on November 18.

In this regard, instructions have been given to the District Magistrates to give publicity regarding the revision program. The information should be given on the notice boards of the respective offices. Voters can also apply online on the Commission's website http://sec.up.nic.in from 1st November to 4th November to get their names included in the list. The Commission has made it clear that the time limit will not be extended under any circumstances. The offices will remain open and work will be done even during the holidays falling during the revision work. The entire action will be taken as per the schedule.
