Yogi Adityanath yesterday ordered the closure of all educational institutions for next two days and has instructed all the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to conduct relief work with full readiness in view of the excessive rainfall in many areas of the state.

Permissible help on any type of loss will also be provided, directed Chief Minister's Office (CMO). CMO further directed officials to send the report of relief and permissible assistance on any kind of loss to the headquarters Officer.

He said that senior officers should visit the area and keep an eye on the relief work. He has given instructions to keep all educational institutions including schools and colleges in the state closed for the next 2 days – September 17 and 18, 2021. He appealed to the people to exercise caution. "Immediate relief should be provided to the people affected by the disaster. In case of waterlogging, arrangement for drainage should be made on priority," Yogi Adityanath added.

According to Indian Meteorological Department, "scattered rainfall with isolated heavy falls is very likely over Uttar Pradesh on September 17 and decrease thereafter".
