Lucknow: Trends for assembly elections in 5 states, including Uttar Pradesh, have started coming. As per the latest trends, BJP is leading in 105 and Samajwadi Party (SP) in 60 seats. Who will form the government with how many seats in the 18th Assembly will be clear by this evening, but according to the exit polls, the BJP seems to be returning to power with a majority from here.

According to the trends so far, Yogi Adityanath is leading from Gorakhpur city assembly seat, Keshav Prasad Maurya from Sirathu, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav from Karhal seat. Akhilesh's ally and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa) national president Om Prakash Rajbhar and Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP and joined the SP, are trailing behind.

However, only postal ballots are being counted right now, the EVM machine is yet to be opened. The polling for 403 assembly seats of UP was held in 7 phases from February 10 to March 7, the results of which are coming today on March 10. The main contest here is believed to be between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP). In such a situation, it will now be seen whose hard work brings colour to the state.
