Lucknow: The first and possibly last cabinet of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh will be held today. All eyes are on the faces of those who are involved in this expansion. A total of 60 ministers can be appointed in the government. Only 47 posts can be filled. Out of these, additional seats have been vacated following the resignation of five ministers. The Cabinet expansion will be held at the Gandhi Auditorium at Raj Bhavan at 11 AM on Wednesday. Governor Anandiben Patel will administer the oath to the new ministers and those who will be sworn-in as Ministers of Independent Charge from the Cabinet and Minister of State in independent charge.

According to the information, several portfolios of ministers can also be reshuffled after the expansion. Some ministers can be increased by giving important portfolios, some may be shortlisted. The number of Cabinet members in the state can be up to 60. With the selection of three Ministers, the resignation of one Minister, Independent Dev and the dismissal of Om Prakash Rajbhar, the number of Cabinet members fell to 42. Now, because of the resignations, the number has come down further.

The new faces are Kapil Dev Agarwal from Muzaffarnagar, Anil Sharma from Victimpur seat of Bulandshahar, Satish Dwivedi from Puranchal, MLC Ashok Katiyar, Vidyasagar Sonkar, Fatehpur Sikri to Udaibhan Singh, Virendra Kashyap, Chandrika Upadhyay, Anand Swarup Shukla, Dal Bahadur Kori from Amethi. More than a dozen MLAs are expected to join the Council of Ministers. In this expansion, the ally can also accommodate his party. There are speculations that expansion is taking into account the social equation.
