UP minister made a mistake by saying up 69th R-Day as 59th

Aligarh(Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 26: Minister of State (MoS) for Basic and Secondary Education Sandeep Singh on Friday made a mistake and termed the 69th Republic Day as 59th. While addressing the gathering in Aligarh, the minister told, "We are celebrating India's 59th Republic Day." He is an MLA from Atrauli constituency of Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh.

To mark 69th Republic day all states across the nation are celebrating today by hoisting the tricolor flag and performing parade. Governors of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar, Odisha, Assam unfurled national flag in their respective states on the occasion followed by parade ceremony.

Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday unfurled the national flag at the Vyasa Vidya Peethom School of Kerala.  The main function of the Republic Day will be organized at Rajpath in the national capital where President Ram Nath Kovind will take the salute of the parade.

Under the custom to host a leader of a foreign nation as the chief guest at the parade, this year, it is the first when leaders of 10 ASEAN countries are the Chief Guests. The tableauxs of fourteen states and nine Central Ministries took part in the parade showcasing varied themes.
