Lucknow: Both Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates Ahmed Hassan and Rajendra Chaudhary have filed their nominations for the forthcoming Legislative Council elections in Uttar Pradesh. SP National President and Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav has expressed confidence in both the candidates and said both the candidates will win.

Akhilesh Yadav said that this time's election is going to be different than before. The poor, farmers, small traders, small shopkeepers, young and women and mothers from Uttar Pradesh are all waiting for the election to see how to get a chance and remove the BJP government. Akhilesh has attacked the BJP government and said that during the BJP's tenure, people from farmers to every section are unhappy.

Earlier, the Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced 4 names for the upcoming Legislative Council elections in Uttar Pradesh. It also includes the name of former IAS officer of Gujarat cadre and Arvind Kumar Sharma, who joined the BJP a day earlier. Sharma along with BJP state president Swatanter Dev Singh, deputy CM Dr Dinesh Sharma and Laxman Prasad Acharya have also been made candidates.
