Lucknow: There was an uproar in Karal village before the results of the panchayat elections in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh came out. There was a quarrel between the two sides at first over the defeat in the prime minister's election. This was followed by a procession from one side, and the other side protested, which heated up the atmosphere and opened fire after the stone-pelting.

The results of the prime minister's election in Bijnor's village Karal are coming today. Earlier in the morning, a debate broke out between the two sides of the village over their candidates for a defeat. The debate escalated to such an extent that people from both sides came face to face. Stone pelting started from both sides, heavy stone pelting rocked the village. There was also firing during this time. A large number of local police reached the village as soon as stone pelting and firing were reported in the village.

The atmosphere could cool down when the police arrived. Police then arrested 16 people from both sides. Police have registered a case against the accused arrested under various sections. There has been tension in the village since the incident. A high-handed police force has been deployed in the village to prevent the atmosphere from deteriorating in any way till the election results are out. However, the police officer on the firing incident says that the fire was fired from a pistol.
