Mathura: In Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, the Intelligence Department has arrested three foreign nationals living in Radhakund town of Govardhan region for the past 18 years without valid papers. One of them had been living for five years. Police officials said, thousands of foreign nationals visit Govardhan and Radhakund every year for Giriraj Bhakti.

He has said that dozens of foreign devotees come on tourist visas and stay here. Some don't even go back even after the visa expires. It's illegal. So they have to take action and send them back to their country. "One of the three foreigners arrested is Walijv Igour alias Ishaan, Russia's Forsev Vasali alias Bhakti Prasad and Latvia's Dmitry Paulus," Beat-in-Charge Som Dutt Sharma said in a briefing.

He said that the three used to rent bhajans in Radhakund. One of them, Dmitry, was fatally attacked by a headless youth from Rajasthan in the past. "Legal proceedings will be carried forward after all these foreign nationals have been briefed to their embassy," he said.
