However, the chargesheet does not include the name of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Umaid. A separate chargesheet will be filed against him. Umaid is currently lodged in jail under NSA. According to the report, the accused have been booked under sections 323 (causing harm), 504 (breach of peace), 506 (intimidation), 295A (hurting religious sentiments), 147 (riots), 148 (constituent weapons in riots) and 149 (illegal aggregation) of the IPC. The accused include Parvez Gujjar and Kallu Gujjar.

This is the same case where many propaganda spreaded fake news saying that the accused made victim to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and later assaulted. It was later revealed that it was a fake news. Parvez Gujjar had said that his wife was 6 months pregnant. Gujjar had taken the amulet from Abdul Samad Saifi. But the unborn child died due to his alleged ill effects.

Ghaziabad police had registered an FIR against 7 persons on June 15. It included Altnews co-founder Mohammad Zubair, journalist Rana Ayub and others. In the case, Twitter Inc. and Twitter Communications India were charged for not taking action against fake news being circulated on their platforms.
