Thiruvananthapuram: The Lucknow Cyber police have registered a case against Campus Front of India activists, the event's organisers, for allegedly portraying Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a negative light, following a complaint about an event that took place in the streets in front of the official residence of the Kerala Governor on October 23.

A man dressed as Yogi Adityanath was dragged by three men and had imitated an assault on him at a protest meeting organised by the CFI. The CFI was protesting the way in which Popular Front of India activists, including journalist Siddique Kappan, were jailed after being arrested by UP Police for allegedly inciting unrest in the aftermath of the Hathras incident.

After two Lucknow residents petitioned against portraying the Uttar Pradesh chief minister in a negative light, the UP cyber police registered a case against those who took part in the event. According to a source, a team of Lucknow police officers is expected to arrive in the state capital soon, and they will first contact the Kerala Police to finalise the case's details.
