Lucknow: Two goods trains collided head-on on Thursday (February 16) morning near the Southern Cabin of Sultanpur Junction in Uttar Pradesh. The driver of a goods train has been injured in the accident. At the same time, about half a dozen coaches of a goods train have derailed. Lucknow-Varanasi and Ayodhya-Prayagraj railway tracks have been disrupted after this accident.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, there was a stir among the railway officials. In a hurry, a team of railway officials including GRP reached the spot and engaged in relief and rescue work. Due to the disruption of the Lucknow-Varanasi and Ayodhya-Prayagraj railway tracks, hundreds of trains have been stranded. As per reports, two goods trains collided head-on near the local junction in the wee hours of Thursday. The pilot of a goods train has been injured in this accident. Six coaches derailed. Due to the accident, the Lucknow-Varanasi route has been disrupted. The gross negligence of the Railways is coming to the fore in the whole matter. It was a matter of luck that there were no passenger vehicles, otherwise, there would have been a huge loss of life and property.
According to reports, the accident occurred when two goods trains came on the same track near the southern cabin of Sultanpur Junction. It is a matter of honor that no one lost his life in this accident. Had there been passenger trains instead of goods trains, a big accident could have happened. Senior railway officials have reached the spot and efforts have been made to restore traffic by removing wagons from the track.
