LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh is set to observe a grand-scale Yoga Week throughout the state from June 15th to 21st.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that a notable aspect of this event will be the emphasis on collective yoga sessions at tourist destinations linked to the state's ancient culture, historical sites, prominent riversides, lakes, ponds, and all Amrit Sarovars, as well as places blessed with natural beauty.

In addition, the government spokesperson mentioned that video links of the Common Yoga Protocol will be shared to facilitate the convenience and awareness of the public.

On June 20th, a special cleanliness campaign will be launched by the Department of Urban Development, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj in collaboration with local educational institutions.

Celebrities, athletes, yoga gurus, and renowned figures from the cultural community will actively participate in these programs as collaborators and influencers to promote the importance of daily yoga practice among the general public.

During the Yoga Week, large-scale group yoga sessions will be organized in all district headquarters.

Every day, group yoga sessions will also be conducted simultaneously from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. in public parks. Furthermore, extensive yoga programs will be conducted on university campuses.

Prominent universities, colleges, and school-colleges across the state will also host yoga-related seminars and workshops covering various topics, including the integration of yoga into modern lifestyles, stress and mental trauma management, elocution competitions, Rangoli/poster competitions, essay writing competitions, slogan writing competitions, and speech competitions.

At the culmination of the week-long programs, certificates will be awarded to participating students. Arrangements will also be made to distribute fruits and sweets to students who take part in the main collective yoga session on June 21st.

The International Day of Yoga, to be observed on June 21st each year, is a significant occasion that celebrates the ancient practice of yoga and its profound impact on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. This global event serves as a reminder of the invaluable gift that yoga offers to humanity. People from all walks of life, regardless of age, gender, or background, come together to participate in various yoga activities, fostering unity and harmony among individuals and communities worldwide. The International Day of Yoga serves as a platform to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga, including stress reduction, increased flexibility, improved focus, and a sense of inner peace. It encourages individuals to embrace this holistic practice and integrate it into their daily lives, thereby nurturing a healthier and more balanced existence.
