A team from the Gurugram police's Crime Branch Agency has arrested two wanted criminals, each with a reward of Rs 5,000, in connection with a murder that occurred on September 3, the police said on Thursday.

Annu, a resident of Gurugram's Gandhi Colony, has been identified as the victim. Deepak Lamba alias Bhatti of Dharuhera in Rewari district, as well as Shivam of Shivaji Park in Gurugram, were arrested on Wednesday, according to police. Following a tip-off, a police team led by Inspector Joginder Singh, In-Charge CIA Palam Vihar, was sent out to Rajiv Chowk and apprehended both of the culprits.

"During questioning the duo disclosed that the victim, Annu had murdered their gang member in 2020. To take revenge, they killed him outside the Sheetla Mata temple on September 3," Preet Pal Sangwan, ACP (crime) said.

The killing took place just a few days after Annu was released on bail, according to the police. According to the police, the victim was previously involved in a murder in Gurugram's Shivaji Nagar area in 2020. The deceased's complainant brother Manish had given the police the names of suspects.

Annu, the victim, was outside the Sheetla Mata Temple on September 3rd when two unidentified men arrived on a two-wheeler around 10 a.m. and shot Annu in the head, killing him on the spot. A case of murder under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the deceased's brother at Sector-5 police station.
