Lucknow: rare and very ancient idol of Lord Vishnu has been found during an excavation in the temple premises in the Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The news of the statue being found in the village spread like fire in the forest and a large number of devotees came to see the Statue of Lord Vishnu from the ground. The idol has been preserved at the Shri Ram Janaki temple in the village.    

According to the report, Patara village under the Kurara development block area in the district was a small ancient Hanuman temple in the forests. The villagers were rebuilding this temple. Meanwhile, during the excavation, the workers found the idol of God. When the idol was taken out and washed, it was found that it is a statue of Lord Vishnu. The village head of Patara Chanda Devi has informed that the villagers of the very ancient temple of Bajrang Bali are being constructed outside the village. On Wednesday, excavation work was going on in this temple premises. During this time, a very ancient, rare statue of Lord Vishnu emerged from inside the earth. Which has been installed in the temple by the villagers. The Archaeology Department has been informed about the discovery of the statue.  

The height of the statue is said to be around one meter and its width is half a meter. The archaeology department will examine the antiquity of this rare statue only then it will be known how old the statue is. A crowd of devotees has gathered to see Lord Vishnu.
