LUCKNOW: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress General Secretary, announced on Monday that her party has prepared a separate manifesto for women for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Priyanka Gandhi announced last month that her party will give women 40 percent of the vote in the upcoming elections, claiming that the decision is aimed at making women a "full-fledged partner in power." Women make up roughly half of the vote bank. "My dear Uttar Pradesh sisters, each day brings new challenges. The Congress party has prepared a separate manifesto for women, in recognition of this "she said in a Hindi tweet.

"Three LPG cylinders will be given to women for free each year upon the formation of the Congress party's government, and women will be able to travel for free in state government buses." Along with the tweet, Priyanka Gandhi has tagged a photo of the Congress' promises to women if the party wins power in Uttar Pradesh.

Other assurances include a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000 for ASHA and Anganwadi workers, the appointment of women to 40 percent of posts according to reservation provisions, a pension of Rs 1,000 for old widows, and the opening of 75 skill schools named after the state's brave women. For the Assembly elections, the Congress is attempting to consolidate women's power in its favour. If her party forms a government in the state, she said last month that all class 12 pass girls will be given a smartphone and all graduate girls will be given an electric scooter.
